MEDICAL DEVICES InterCity’s Biomedical / Biomechanical Engineers provide consultation in cases involving design or manufacturing failure-related defects of medical devices including, but not limited to anesthesia stations, endotracheal tubes, electrosurgical and cautery devices, hearing aids, heart valves, implants and prosthesis, laser devices, medical ports, neural stimulators, pacemakers / defibrillators, surgical staplers, sutures, TENS units, trochars and laparoscopic instruments. In carrying out these studies, metallurgical, fracture and failure analysis of plastics, ceramics and composites is conducted, as necessary, in the evaluation process.
